Of all the lights that exist
none are more beautiful
than the one I can't touch.
It's as if we have the lesser lights
as a glimmer of hope
for what’s to come.
When we don't have to seek
what we already have.
And we can bask
in the sublime warmth
of perfect love forever.
Until then,
we marvel at the sun,
and celestial bodies;
their reflections on water,
and tears in our eyes,
dew on the petals
of flowers in the morning,
and raindrops on the glass
that blur our view.
We, full of wonder
like a memory of something
none of us have ever seen,
still reach with a longing
so deep, it's as if we remember.
